As guests on this Earth, we must take part in the mission to heal it. The Living Chapel is uniquely working towards that mission through spiritual and artistic creation and a global call to action.
Unity
UNITY: A Common Purpose for our Common Home
“The urgent challenge to protect our common home includes a concern to bring the whole human family together to seek a sustainable and integral development.”
– Pope Francis, Laudato Si’ (13)
Denial, indifference, nonchalant resignation, and blind confidence in technical solutions leave little room for the transformation of the environment to a more wholesome, healthy and renewable state. At the Living Chapel we are working towards a universal solidarity to bring the human family together to forge a respectful and sustainable relationship with nature. We act in solidarity with our partners at the Vatican and the United Nations to push for the ecologically-minded unification of all. We see this linking of arms as an integrated approach towards strengthening global unity in an effort to mobilize and protect the planet from further degradation.
“Everyone’s talents and involvement are needed to redress the damage caused by human abuse of God’s creation”
– Bishops of South Africa, as quoted in Laudato Si’ (14)
Survival is a matter of unity and it requires that we look for solutions in changing humanity at the core. The root of our environmental crisis is both ethical and spiritual. Each choice we make in how we live affects one another and the Earth. If we can unite with the natural splendor that surrounds us, then our care and compassion for each other and for our common home will bloom.
As guests on this Earth, we must take part in the mission to heal it. The Living Chapel is uniquely working towards that mission through spiritual and artistic creation and a global call to action.
